This is our travel blog. We like to travel widely, and have been to Canada, England, Korea, Ireland, Malaysia (including Borneo), Singapore, and cruises to Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean, both singly and together. We’re also a couple of beach bums who are just a little grumpy when we’re not looking out over large expanses of sand and water. We live in Alexandria, Virginia, and have a little beach condo in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
New Smyrna Beach is a great beach town with the feel of old Florida, especially on the off-season. Daytona Beach and St. Augustine are to the north, and Titusville and Cape Canaveral are to the south. Orlando and the airport are just over an hour away. You don’t drive through New Smyrna Beach going somewhere else. At one end of the island is an inlet without a bridge, and at the other end is the Canaveral National Seashore.
